Seniors Rock

If you’re breathing, you’re living. If you’re living, God is still writing your story. We believe the best is yet to come! God still has a plan for your life. You are the true leaders of this generation, and we need you. We need your voice. We need your knowledge. We need your perspective. We need your story. We need your expertise and experience. We need YOU! Chalice is a church home that puts the highest value on our seniors and the struggles they are facing today. You’re not alone here, come and find a loving and caring community, that is still pushing to know God more.

a message from our pastor

Our promise to you is that you will not be forgotten in a room of young people. They may be focused on their busy lives, but our pastoral staff will be there to assist you with your ministry needs. We are here to welcome you into all areas of the Chalice Church life.

We further commit to support you when you struggle with life’s difficult issues. The fear of being alone is not lost on us. Hospital visitation is still a major focus of Chalice. We will be there to support you when grieving the loss of a loved one, or if you have a health situation occur yourself.

And lastly, we will find a place where you can serve. In over 30 years of pastoral ministry, the one thing I know for certain is, Seniors serve. Some of our very best volunteers have been those who are retired, and have time to invest in the Kingdom of God. If you can’t physical do much, we’re sure there’s something that you can do and we’ll help you find it! So, come join us and put yourself to work in the army of the Lord!

How do we relate?

Our lead pastors are in their early sixties. They understand the needs you face. Everything from worrying about children and grandchildren, to health, and financial concerns. But what we also know is the value that you bring to The Table!

Consider this:

  1. Seniors have the wisdom of a lifetime, a wisdom that the younger generation needs. Where better to share that knowledge than with young people who have a relationship with God and are open to advice and direction.

  2. Seniors understand commitment. Another characteristic that is so lacking in today’s society. When a senior says they will do something, you can take it to the bank. Churches need the strength and stability that comes from dependable members who do what they promise.

  3. Seniors come from a world unlike today’s world. You grew up when things were pretty much predictable. Your parents had retirement plans, they kept the same job most of their life, they knew the neighbors and occasionally had dinner with them. Schools taught the 3 R’s with no political agenda. They owned one car, had an average of 2 or more children and lived on a tight budget. Church for them was imperative and they drug you along. Since we come from that world, we understand what this generation is missing. We are the missing link in the lives of our youth, and we cannot neglect our commission to be seen and heard.

  4. Seniors love God. It’s no secret that the strongest faith is found in the lives of our older demographic. We came from a age when right was right and wrong was wrong. We were taught repentance and obedience to the Word of God, and we learned that when we stepped out on faith God was there to catch us. Again, our youth are starving for examples of lives that cannot be moved from their place in God. You are that stronghold. You are needed.
