What is next?

People are all asking why Chalice is relocating and where we’ll be going?

First let me assure you that the Church is stronger than ever, we are in a great financial position to move forward, and our people are stoked about our future!

In a nutshell, “We didn’t want to grow old and die afraid of taking risks!” We’ve been in a bit of a rut, we know it, and we want out! There’s something about doing the same thing, the same way, in the same place, for so long. This can make you stop appreciating what you really have and acknowledging what God is able to do for anyone. Who will step out of “their” boat in faith? For that reason we-jumped-ship, sold our comfortable 18,000sf facility and said, “Yes Lord!”.

We asked ourselves a question, “What would it take to revive our faith and win more people for the Kingdom?” The answer was plain, “Take a risk and put everything on the line. Let go of the things that make us feel secure and churchy, and refocus on the Great Commission.”

So, if you’re looking for a church that’s serious about the things Jesus (“Who had no place to lay His head”) was concerned about; then “Come to the Table!”

"At the Father's Table you'll find real love, acceptance, forgiveness, and a hope for tomorrow."

We're inviting you to "Show up, Grow up, and Go out", in the Power of the Holy Spirit!

Wait no longer!

No reason to sit around and wait for a good thing, come join us THIS Sunday! Come connect with our friendly people, and with a loving God!

a Brief look at Our History …

While we think of ourselves as a new church, we are not a new congregation. However, we do expect to be soon. Our dream is to “Seek and Save that that which was Lost.” That means change, growth, and ready to conform to whatever it is that Jesus wants us to become.

Chalice, formerly known as New Life Christian Church, was founded in 1990. The church grew and prospered until it was impacted by the Brownsville Revival in the mid-nineties. At that time a lot changed including the Staff who received the gift of the Holy Spirit and began an even deeper walk with God. In 2001, the founding pastor resigned. In June of 2001, Darryl Martin was brought on board as lead pastor.

Since that time, the church has touched our community in countless ways. Everything from feeding thousands of hungry residents, to providing complete eyeglasses at no cost for hundreds. For several years New Life ministered to over 180 drug/alcohol addicted men and women, many of who to this day are living completely free lives in Jesus. Over the years hundreds have been saved, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, healed, and sent out to preach. God has been glorified in it all!

Today, we are Chalice Church! We have recently sold our building and are moving into a new season of growth in our church!
